Hair transplantation involves removing small pieces of hair-bearing scalp grafts from donor site and relocating them to a bald or thinning area.
Surgical Procedure: There are several surgical techniques on the stage of baldness. Surgical methods such as vertical reduction with or without expander and flaps are procedures performed in local anesthesia and can be combined involving hair–bearing skin. The most common permanent transplantation from hair-bearing skin are mini-grafts and micro-grafts.
Duration: The procedure when personal mini-grafts (4-8 hairs) and micro-grafts (up to3 hairs) are used lasts from 2 to4 hours in a local anesthesia. In the replanting area the number of punches depends on possible number of grafts (up to 1500). A scab is formed on every implant and it goes off together with implanted hair. The replanted hair grows again in three months. Additional procedure could be done in 3-6 months.
Post Surgical Recovery: Hair can be washed after 48 hours, procedure could be redone in 3-6 months.
