Nose Reshaping

Objective: Correction of the size and shape of the nose (pronounced nasal hump, too long, too wide nose /bulbosed/, asymmetrical nasal tip, drooping nasal tip, saddle nose, deformity after previous rhinoplasty and trauma), as well as correction of possible breathing issues by straigthning nasal septum, removing conhal excess bones and mucosa and internal valvular correction by Spreader grafts, etc. with an open approach.

Classic endonasal surgery has become rare not because they become obsolete, but because, it is in our view reserved for a small number of reductive rhinoplasty with minimal humps, well-defined and projected tip of the nose which is unfortunately very rare in practice.

Although there is no age limitation for rhinoplasty, adolescence is the time when your nose is practically reaching its full development. This is the earliest period in which surgery can be recommended.

Surgical Technique: The correction is performed through incisions inside the nostrils and through a small, almost invisible incision on base of the nose. This approach provides good access to the nasal skeleton. This method provides numerous advantages over conventional nasal surgery. Further procedure consists of changing the shape and position of the nasal bones and cartilages, in order to reduce the nasal pyramid or to increase it. After surgery is performed, in the nasal turbinates the tampons are placed as well as nasal mask on the back of the nose, which should be removed after seven days. After this period, it is possible to put make-up on.

Duration and Anesthesia: The surgery usually lasts 2 to 3 hours and is performed under local anesthesia, intravenous analgosedation or general anesthesia.

Recovery: Until the tampons are removed the patient breathes through the mouth. By this time the swellingis largely withdrawn. After a few days you are going back to your normal activities, but in the next few days you should avoid activities that can elevate your bloodpressure. Swelling around the eyes and in the surrounding tissue.

Rare Somplications: Bleeding, pollybeak deformity.

The best compliment you can get is, when someone says that your nose is not marked. The ultimate goal of rhinoplasty is, in essence, to get functional nose and to obtain the nose that looks natural and harmonious with your face.
